S1 Teachers

Rosie DoughtyLyn Pantry holds a BA in Early Childhood Education from Florida State University. She has taught for over 25 years at various levels. She taught Year 2 at Purvis Primary and Year 2 and 3 at Somerset Primary. While living in Florida, she taught with the Even Start Program, which was working with children, birth to three and their families. She also taught in the Head Start Program for 4year olds. Ms. Pantry joined Saltus in 1995 and has taught for 8 years in S3 and 8 years in S1. Both her children joined her at Saltus and went all the way through to SGY. Her daughter, Nea, is currently at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada. Her son, Bryce, is at Savannah College Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia.

Heather Trimingham holds a BA in Developmental Psychology from the University of British Columbia and a M.S. in Integrated Education from Wheelock College in Boston. She has experience teaching at all ages within the primary setting, both in Cambridge, MA and locally. Having taught Primary 5 at St. David’s Primary School, Heather joined Saltus in 2011 as a substitute teacher and has worked extensively across the Primary department from Foundation year through S6. Heather enjoys action sports and traveling, and recently got on board with a surfing charity based in Nicaragua where she spent time in a local primary school this summer.

 

 

 

 

 

Katrina Kawaley-Lathan holds a BAH in Drama from Queen's University and completed her primary teaching degree program at Deakin University. She has extensive experience teaching children of various ages. Katrina joined Saltus in 2007and has taught both Foundation Year and S1. She is certified through the Bermuda Educators Council to teach Primary school. Katrina enjoys traveling and participating in the performing arts.

Lynn Petty holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Leicester University and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Hull. She began her career teaching English in Japanese Middle Schools for 4 years and has now taught the British National Curriculum at primary level for eleven years, across all year groups. Seven of those years were spent at the Girls' Day School Trust, the highest achieving chain of schools in the UK. After moving to Bermuda in January 2012 Lynn joined Saltus on a part time basis as a Special Needs aide and substitute teacher. Lynn is married to David, a management consultant and enjoys walking her Great Dane and doing home improvements.
