The Case For Support
Making A Good School Better
Responsive Education
“Saltus believes that every child is an individual with unique needs, desires and capabilities.”
In order to educate each child as an individual, we are makingthe School better in a number of different ways.
The Graduate Years
This two-year programme, based on the internationally recognized Advanced Placement curriculum, allows students to enjoy the flexibility of choice from a wide variety of higher-level courses which prepare them for college and university entrance.
Accreditation
Under the auspices of the Canadian Educational Standards Institute (CESI), Saltus has embarked on a three-year school review and accreditation process. Ten CESI standards will be examined as part of a major self-evaluation of the school, with input from all sections of the Saltus community.
The Foundation Year
This programme will develop early communication, literacy and numeracy skills. The emphasis is on activities that are fun, relevant and motivating. It will provide a non-threatening supporting introduction to school.
The Centre for Learning
The Saltus philosophy states that “every student is an individual”; the Centre for Learning has been established to sustain this philosophy with structured programmes to support and extend students with learning differences.
The New Buildings
The School’s new first class facilities complement and acknowledge the range and diversity of our students, and support and enhance the educational offerings of the School.
The Key Stages
With the introduction of the Foundation Year and the relocation of both Saltus 3 and Saltus 7 students, we have aligned the structure of our School with the recognized key stages in each student’s educational development.
