SGY 1 AP Psychology students went to dolphin quest yesterday to work on applications of classical and operant conditioning. They also looked at schedules of reinforcement and how these support learning in dolphins. Students did a class room activity, followed by observations to watch the different types of partial reinforcement schedules in dolphin training. They then had to pretend to be dolphins to see how difficult it is to train animals. This was finished by the students performing behaviors with the dolphins (getting the dolphin to spin around, give a kiss, tail wave etc.).
