How can we help to protect the ecosystems of Bermuda?
Recently, some of our Year 7 students were able to go on a beach plastic field trip. This was a part of the ecology topic in which the driving question is “How can we, as citizen scientists, help to protect the ecosystems of Bermuda?” Whereby students will be discovering the answers the following essential questions: • Why should the people care about plastic pollution? • How much beach plastic actually exists on our beaches? How does the amount change over time? Does it come back after you collect it? • What is the impact of ocean plastic on ecosystems? - Specifically what is the impact of plastic pollution on local Bermuda waters, Bermuda’s coral reefs, Bermuda’s beaches the Southern Atlantic ocean, and the world?
