Expanding Opportunities

The Advancement Department at Saltus is tasked annually with raising funds for The Saltus Fund, a mission critical fundraising effort that is essential to providing expanding opportunities in education at Saltus.  This unrestricted funding allows Saltus to provide necessary to support Financial Aid, academics, athletics, and arts programmes that are diverse, collaborative, and innovative, and inspire our students to reach to new heights in their quest to prepare to meet the world.

Advancement, however, is so much more than fundraising.  Advancement means ‘moving forward, making progress’. The very nature of its name dictates that this talented group of individuals at Saltus are involved in many facets of school life. Here is a brief glimpse at the activities orchestrated by the Advancement Team in recent weeks includes:
  • Darrell Day (14th May 2021) – A wonderful celebration of the winning House Team from the first ever ‘House Match’ which was held during our first annual giving week 22-26th March 2021. Staff and students dressed in the Darrel House colour to recognise the generosity of our Saltus Community.
  • Bowl Off (4th June 2021) – A long overdue ‘House Match’ activity that was delayed due to a move to virtual school in April.  The bowl off saw students and staff representatives on the cricket pitch vying for the coveted title and fun was had by all.
  • Alumni Cocktail Event (11th June 2021) – Held annually, this highly anticipated event welcomes Saltus Alum to gather together and recognize the ‘Alumni of the Year’. This year’s event was held at The Hamilton Princess and congratulated Dr. Michael Ashton ’91 and Dr. Meliseanna Gibbons ’06 for their contributions to society.
  • Grandparents’ Breakfast (15th June 2021) – A wonderful event to honour the members of our Saltus Community that provide support to our families every day, this event was widely received and hopefully will become a regular activity!
  • Graduation Alumni Tent – (17th June 2021) – New for 2020-21, the Advancement Department took their support for Saltus Alumni to a new level by providing an opportunity for newly graduated Class of 2021 to collect school mementos and find out about Saltus Connect and the fabulous alumni community. They also reached out to graduates after the ceremony to ensure that they stay in touch once they leave Saltus.
  • 25th Annual Francis L. Stephenson Memorial Golf Tournament (18th June 2021) – A long-standing activity in our Saltus Community that is organized every year by the Advancement Team. This wonderful fundraiser took place at Belmont Hills Golf Course.

Thank you to the Advancement Team for all that they do for the Saltus Community and for being part of the strategic process that makes Saltus a wonderful place to be. If you would like to support The Saltus Fund please go to www.giving.saltus.bm.
