Beach Clean-up Success!

Coastic, founded by SGY1 students Leyla Ganal, Olivia Summers, Aiden Swiss, Ben Mello, Amy Colmet and Gabriella Turchiaro, are on a mission to increase the number of people committed to cleaning up Bermuda’s beaches.  The group will be conducting a beach clean-up in each parish over the school year, with the goal of collecting 1,000 pounds of trash.
Their first beach clean-up was held last weekend on Sunday, 13th November at John Smith’s Bay in Devonshire.  67 Saltus students accompanied by family members and friends joined the student lead beach clean-up.  A staggering 86 kilograms (189 pounds) of trash was removed from the beach and surrounding park.

Thank you to all the students, their families and friends, and our partner Keep Bermuda Beautiful who helped make this such a success.  We look forward to another clean-up in early December, details to follow!
