Saltus dominates six-a-side football tournaments

Saltus Grammar School dominated school six-a-side tournaments on Tuesday, winning both the Primary School B Championships and the Middle School over-13 competition at the National Sports Centre.

The Saltus Primary Boys put on a display of explosive offense and strong defense to capture the Bermuda School Sports Federation Primary Boys “B” six-a-side Championship at the National Sports Center. Saltus went undefeated, and unscored on, as they brushed aside all competition on route to lifting the trophy.
In the preliminary round Saltus were grouped with Francis Patton, Purvis Primary and Victor Scott for round robin matches. The results for the matches were as follows:
Saltus 8 vs Francis Patton 0
Saltus 4 vs Francis Patton 0
Saltus 3 vs Purvis 0
Saltus 4 vs Dalton E Tucker 0

In the final Saltus would face Warwick Academy, who had defeated Saltus in last week’s zone championship. Chance Franks would open the scoring in the first half to put Saltus ahead 1-0. A free kick into the goal area was converted on the volley by Oliver Anderson to extend the lead to 2-0, which Saltus would take into half time. Saltus maintained their shape and discipline in the second half to keep the Warwick offense under control and close the game out without any additional scoring.
