Academic Support at Saltus

The purpose of the Academic Support Programme at Saltus is to advocate for and support students, teachers, and parents in the provision of differentiated programmes, to ensure that every student is included, challenged – and successful.

Students who require academic intervention, literacy and numeracy support, and curriculum extension are all served by our tiered support model that puts the focus on high-quality classroom interventions, small group and one-on-one targeted support. The school takes a multidisciplinary approach to delivering its holistic programme in close partnership with parents with, at the forefront, each child’s well-being and academic success in mind. An underlying tenet of our programme is the focus on building a sense of independence in learning. By gaining self-knowledge, learning appropriate strategies and self-advocacy skills, students can become productive, confident individuals and more resourceful lifelong learners.

Throughout the school, our learning strategists work collaboratively with grade-level teams and parents to identify and assist students who require educational interventions and classroom accommodations. Support is delivered through a combination of small group instruction, co-teaching, and integrated classroom support, as is most appropriate.
Our Mission is to inspire a passion for learning and independent thinking through a commitment to academic excellence, personal integrity and service to others.
